Watermelon: Grows on a vine on the ground. Is in season during the summer months, but is available in the supermarket all year long. Usually are round or oblong and ranges from a few pounds to very heavy. Some farmers have grown watermelons in odd shapes using a glass jar. Has a smooth green or yellow rind on the outside and a soft pink to red fruit inside. Watermelon is available with or with out seeds, although the seedless is not truly with out seeds just has a different type of seed.
