Tangerine: Citrus fruit orange in color. The thick skin peels off easily is pebbly in texture. This fruit is peeled in segments or used to spice up salad. Tangerines were first found in China and Japan over 3,000 years ago. This citrus fruit did not make it to Europe or North America until the nineteenth century. Peak season is short and is from November to January.

China produces more tangerines then anywhere. Tangerines are rich with vitamin C and fiber.
